The St. Louis Blues had four players representing their respective countries at the 2025 IIHF World Championship in Sweden and Denmark. And that number is down to two heading into the quarterfinals.

Team Canada forward Brayden Schenn and goaltender Jordan Binnington are off to the quarterfinals with a matchup against Denmark on Thursday. Canada went 6-0-1 in its preliminary games, outscoring the opposition 34-7, including the shootout "goal" for Team Finland.

UPDATE: Denmark shocks Canada at World Championship, eliminating Jordan Binnington & Brayden Schenn

Schenn has played in all seven games thus far, posting one assist and a plus-2 rating in his ice time.

For goaltender Jordan Binnington, he finally allowed a goal to Sweden on Tuesday after posting shutouts in his first two games. Canada beat Sweden 5-3 in that one to secure the top spot in Group A.

However, as the preliminary round comes to a close, so does the tournament for Blues forwards Dalibor Dvorsky (Slovakia) and Alexandre Texier (France).

Both Slovakia and France had disappointing tournaments to say the least.

Slovakia won just two of their seven games, including one victory over France. Their other win came by a 3-1 final score over Slovenia. Dvorsky played in six games and had one assist in his time with Slovakia.

For France, the tournament could not have gone worse. They failed to win a game, getting outscored 27-8 in their seven games. They earned just one standings point by forcing overtime against Finland in a 4-3 loss. Texier had three assists in his eight games with France in this tournament.

Unfortunately for France, they will now be relegated to Division 1A.

Team Canada is expected to win its quarterfinal matchup against Denmark on Thursday. If they do, they'll advance to the semifinal as the top seed left in the tournament.
