In need of some depth in the forward group, the St. Louis Blues are expected to sign Dillon Dube and assign him to the AHL affiliate, Springfield, according to hockey insider Frank Seravalli. This signing, though not confirmed officially, comes after the recent positive diagnosis of star winger Jordan Kyrou and his week-to-week timeline.

Dube, who was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft, has played 325 games at the NHL level. He scored 57 goals and added 70 assists in that time frame, but has not suited up for an NHL game since the 2023-24 season.

He spent his 2024-25 campaign across the pond in the Kontinental Hockey League, with Minsk Dynamo. In 42 games, Dube had four goals and seven assists for 11 points.

There has been an influx of recent call-ups to replace key players in the forward group. The aforementioned Kyrou joins Jimmy Snuggerud, Nathan Walker, and Alexey Toropchenko on the injury list. Plus, Oskar Sundqvist had to take a trip into the tunnel in the latest win against the Montreal Canadiens, but came back into the game. There could be another injury behind the scenes that we do not know about.

Matt Luff was just brought up from Springfield, and Hugh McGing as well. Not to mention both Aleksanteri Kaskimaki and Dalibor Dvorsky are also call-ups, just 30 games into the Blues season. It has been a revolving door, and Dube is likely going to be another depth piece down in Springfield, whilst another player or two get a chance in "The Show" this season.

The Blues have five of their next six games at home, where they have not been able to get a proper groove going. The injuries are still games away from being 100 percent and back in action, so it is every man on deck at the moment.
