After so much was rumored and discussed, the 2025 Trade Deadline came and went without a single peep coming from the St. Louis Blues. General Manager Doug Armstrong and the rest of the Blues front office fielded some calls, but nothing stuck.
Doug Armstrong on making no moves at the trade deadline: "We were in contact with some teams on some hockey trades... At the end of the day, we ended up moving forward with the team that is playing excellent hockey right now." #stlblues

It looks like things are going to stay the way they are from now until the end of the season. With no moves on the last day to make a drastic change to their roster, what is next for the Blues season?
What Now?
With 19 games remaining on the season, there is an underlying issue with the rest of the season. The Blues are so close to a playoff spot, yet this roster will be missing their most important players. After losing Colton Parayko with a knee injury for the rest of the regular season, this is going to be a hard 19 games to play.
Their are many different storylines that will play out before the end of the season. Of course, there is the potential for a playoff appearance. Then there is the other side of the coin, in which the Blues fall apart at the end of the season and we all get a chance to see the emergence of some prospects at the NHL level. Jimmer Snuggerud and Dalibor Dvorksy headline that list.
We shall see if the Blues made the right call to not do anything today.
Schenn Showed his True Colors
The biggest moment of the day was when reports started spreading around the internet about the Blues captain Brayden Schenn. He was linked to a couple of different teams but only one really made a strong push to snag him away, and that was the Toronto Maple Leafs. The deal was close, but the captain showed his true colors, by showing his love for the Blues and its fans.
He did not waive his no-trade clause to go to a top-ranked team.
McKenzie on TSN says Leafs wanted Brayden Schenn but Schenn did not want to waive his NTC so they pivoted to Scott Laughton.

That is an unbelievable statement move, from a guy that has been swirling around the trade-tracker sites for weeks. Almost everyone had thought that this guy was not going to a Blue by the end of the day today. But, he still believes that this team can make a run, and are indeed right around the corner to being a contender.
