The St. Louis Blues were able to muster out a hard-fought victory over the Montreal Canadiens, 4-3. It was a nice sweep of the back-to-back games in Canada, with a win over Ottawa on Saturday night. Overall, the three-game road trip resulted in a 2-1-0 record for four much-needed points.

After the game, captain Brayden Schenn had some interesting comments on the lengthy injury list for the Blues top-six forward group, and how this team has been able to respond. With their second 4+ goal performance over their last 12 games, the offense might be able to use this win as a launching point for the rest of the season.

Schenn spoke on this team's adaptability to the injuries and how no matter what, this group has each other's back.

"Guys just buying in for one another," Schen said. "At the end of the day there are no complaints and guys are going out there and playing hard for one another. When you do that you start to build something and you can feel it. I think we have had a good response since Boston."

These last two games have seen them being held to just 38 shots on goal, which is four less than what Ottawa did in just three periods on Saturday. The injuries to Jordan Kyrou, Jimmy Snuggerud, Nathan Walker, and Alexey Toropchenko are certainly noticeable with this group.

But, they keep finding the will to win.

Schenn was a large part of the big win against Montreal, with a three-point night consisting of a set of goals and an assist. That was the first three-point game of the season, and the Blues desperately needed that kind of performance from their captain.

With so many key players out, all eyes are on Schenn to rally the troops and keep up the morale in the locker room. From what he said after the game, this group is doing that all by themselves.

Dylan Holloway is another player that really stepped up to the plate with a three point night himself. He will be a crucial piece to this winning formula going forward.
