This St. Louis Blues team has been falling in and out of chemistry all season long. Once things seem like they are starting to come together as a group, an injury or a bad game completely throws this lineup through a loop.
After this team was embarrassed by both Boston and Nashville, there was a revival of sorts in the 3-2 bounce-back win against Chicago on Friday. Head coach Jim Montgomery spoke on this team coming together, and after that effort, it might have an everlasting effect.
Jim Montgomery on #stlblues playing for each other: "Right from the drop of the puck, you could feel it, the crowd was into it because our guys were there for each other, rallying for each other. We were connected." #stlblues

Could this game finally have turned the tide? Was Monty's observation right?
Let's talk about it.
Finally connected?
Injuries have played a big part in the demise of this team. Sure, lackluster play and underwhelming performances from all three groups are also an equally significant part, but losing players has put a damper on the flow of the season.
Still, even without their stars like Jimmy Snuggerud, Jordan Kyrou, Nick Bjugstad, Nathan Walker, and Alexey Toropchenko, this team found a way to beat a pretty good Chicago Blackhawks squad. Matt Luff and Logan Mailloux shined through with their first goals as members of the Blues, and Justin Faulk continues his impressive season in the later stages of his career.
Montgomery was right, the Enterprise Center was rocking, and the players have not had the luxury of reciprocating success for them much this season. But, this could have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
It is important to note that this season is not over yet. The Blues are still within earshot of a playoff spot, despite the Central Division acquiring another generational talent in Quinn Hughes, who was traded to Minnesota.
Robby Fabbri has been a breath of fresh air, and his re-arrival has proven that he is an x-factor. When all of the injured players get back on the ice, this team could be a well-oiled machine, like what was expected from them at the beginning of the season.
Is this team finally fixed? It is more fixed now than it was after the end of the Nashville game. Losing 7-2 to one of the very few teams worse than themselves is an unofficial way of saying this team hit rock bottom. Things are starting to look up for this team, but there is still a lot of uncertainity with this team.
