St. Louis Blues GM Doug Armstrong selected Antoine Dorion as the 209th pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Though being a seventh-round pick it will be an uphill battle to earn a roster spot. Regardless, Antoine Dorion will have an opportunity to impress the coaching staff and front office and perhaps enter professional play in the upcoming years.

Dorion is 18 years old and the son of former Ottawa Senators GM Pierre Dorion.

"Antoine Dorion lives and breathes hockey. Born in Orleans, Ontario, the... forward has spent his minor hockey career with the Cumberland Jr. Grads, including his U15 season, where he scored nine goals and 23 points in 29 games. The son of...Pierre Dorion, Antoine, is known for being a power forward with an excellent net-front presence," Scouting Report.

St. Louis Blues: Antoine Dorion

While seventh-round picks often don’t make NHL rosters, there have been great success stories, and Dorion will seek to defy the odds and join the NHL ranks.

As a forward, Dorion brings skill to the St. Louis Blues. Seeing Jake Neighbours as a forward with a promising future with St. Louis, this draft pick can be encouraged, begging the question: could Dorion develop into another potential draft steal?

Dorion has plenty of experience around professional hockey, often spending time with his father on NHL ice.

With the final two picks in the 2024 NHL Draft, the St. Louis Blues elected to choose offensive threats. Don’t underestimate Dorion. With his connection to NHL-level hockey through his father, he will surely seek to continue a legacy and will obviously benefit from his father's experience and further developmental opportunities.
