The St. Louis Blues have dropped two of their last three games to the Nashville Predators in embarrassing fashion. The only thing keeping this team from hitting the red button and resorting to dire changes is the fact that they did have a good win against Chicago between the two losses.

Now, it is a rematch of the first-round matchup from last season, the Winnipeg Jets. This is going to be a heavyweight battle, as both teams have shared the same kind of underwhelming play this season and are trying to better themselves.

Let's take a look at the matchup, a round-up of the Blues best prospects and see who is going to represent the 'Lou at the World Junior Championships.

Blues News

  • The Blues can rid their demons with a much-needed win against the Jets. The same can be said for goaltender Jordan Binnington, who may be on his last few chances to win over the support of his General Manager Doug Armstrong and head coach Jim Montgomery.
  • The Blues' future looks very bright. Justin Carbonneau continues to develop nicely in the QMJHL with 24 goals and 11 assists for 35 points in 25 games. The same can be said for Adam Jiricek and Adam Jecho, who are both lighting up Junior hockey as well.
  • Jecho and Jiricek highlight the prospects appearing in the World Junior Championsips, starting the day after Christmas. Both will represent the Blues for their home country, Czechia. Goaltender Love Harenstam will also be playing in the tournament, with Team Sweden. We all know that Sweden has always been a pipeline for great goaltenders, like Henrik Lundqvist and Jacob Marstrom.
