The St. Louis Blues needed to start this four-game home-stand off with a bang, and they delivered with a couragous 3-2 win over Chicago. It was a big night for hockey in general, even though this game was only one of two games on the docket for the entire NHL, alongside the two newest expansion teams, Seattle versus Utah.

Let's take a look at the Blues win, and fly around the NHL for the night that was.

Blues News

  • The Blues took care of business, 3-2, and bounced back nicely following two duds on the road in Boston and Nashville. Justin Faulk, Logan Mailloux, and Matt Luff were the difference makers on the night, but this was a complete team effort.
  • There were a lot of things to take away from the win, but the three biggest things showcased this team's perseverance and that this game might have been a look inside the crystal ball. Can this team finally turn its season around?

NHL News

  • With around two more months to go until the best-on-best take on each other in the biggest tournament in Hockey, the Olympic hype is starting to get real. But the much-debated ice-rink and arena that they are going to play in still looks a bit unfinished.
  • The biggest news of the night came just minutes before the two NHL games were set to start, with the biggest trade of the 2025-26 season. It might go down as the trade of the season as Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes was traded to Minnesota. The Blues have another top defenseman in the Central Division, giving them an even harder gauntlet to face.
