As the quarterfinals of the 2026 Olympics in Italy get underway, all of the St. Louis Blues representatives will be playing in the four games today. It is a big day for hockey, and it got started with an impressive showing from Team Slovakia and Dalibor Dvorsky.
Currently in the third period, Slovakia is dominating Germany, 5-1 with nearly a full period to go. Dvorsky has a key goal in the second period and an assist to boot. He has been incredible in this tournament, and there is a hope that he brings this experience home with him and helps bolster the Blues young blossoming future.
Let's go over some recent news over the last couple of days.
All five Blues players will be competing in the four games today. The aformentioned Dvorsky is beating Germany, Jordan Binnington and Colton Parayko with Team Canada face off against Czechia. Philip Broberg and an underdog Swedish team face the USA. Finally, Pius Suter and Switzerland have a tough task against Finland.
There is no clear indication yet of what Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong plans to do with the rest of the Blues season. With 25 games left, time might have run out on this season, and the next logical move is to wave the white flag. Should they do that, there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel, and that being the next franchise player. Gavin McKenna or Ivar Stenberg can be those players, but they need the first overall pick in order to secure their destiny.
Looking at how this 2025-26 season has gone, there is much to be said about how the goaltenders have fared. If you were to grade them, what would you give for a letter grade for both Binnington and Joel Hofer?
