While St. Louis continues to fight for a potential playoff spot, their system players have worked wonders elsewhere.

The St. Louis Blues continue to march towards a potential playoff spot, sitting 5th in the Central Division standings with just under 100 days left before the postseason officially kicks off the week of April 13. Things are looking fairly good for the Blues, especially since the week where they spanked longtime divisional rivals Chicago outside at Wrigley Field in this year's Winter Classic. New HC Jim Montgomery has St. Louis in a spoiler spot for the postseason with a couple of months left. While St. Louis continues to fight for a potential playoff spot, their system players have worked wonders elsewhere.

But this isn't about the primary Blues team; it's more about what their prospects have been up to as the 2024/25 NHL season reaches its middle point. Which Blues prospects have been proving their worth for their teams and could have themselves called up in the near future?

1. Dalibor Dvorsky

If you watched any of Dvorsky's WJC output in this year's tournament, you would've seen a solid C/RW duelist for the Slovak team despite a quarterfinals exit to eventual silver medalists Finland. The 19-year-old from Zvolen had 5 goals and 4 assists for 9 points in the 5 games the Slovs lasted in this year's tournament. At the AHL level, Dvorsky has notched 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points in 27 games for the Blues' Springfield affiliate. Clearly, Dvorsky is a solid two-way player who can play two different positions and, at the same time, log some excellent time with his respective teams at the domestic and international levels. Not bad for someone still so young. But being the #10 overall choice in last year's draft will get you that, I suppose.

2. Jimmy Snuggerud

The Minnesota superstar has always been at the top or near the top of the Blues' prospect rankings, and just recently, coach Jim Montgomery was asked about when he might don the Blue Note for the first time. The biggest goal would be towards the end of the season, and preferably if and when the Blues have locked in a playoff spot. Because who knows? With the talent Snuggerud brings to the table (22 goals, 17 assists for 28 points in 22 games, plus the captain's lettering!), it's kind of a surprise he hasn't been called up earlier. Obviously you couldn't just randomly do it as if the Blues suddenly needed an emergency RW. But in any case, Snuggerud is potentially in for a solid NHL career if his talent is utilized properly (looking at you, Rangers).

3. Otto Stenberg

Stenberg, a 19-year- old C/LW much like Dvorsky, is still trying to find balance in the domestic game, having been bounced between multiple Swedish Hockey League clubs, but he more than makes up for it with his strong international game. In this year's WJC, Stenberg notched three goals and five assists for eight points in seven games for Team Sweden en route to a semifinals defeat in overtime to (who else) eventual silver medalists Finland. That was identical to his 2024 WJC output (5 goals, 4 assists for 9 points in 7 games, host Sweden finished runner-up to the US). The point is, Stenberg is virtually consistent, and that's definitely something you want in a top 5 prospect in your team's overall system.

Rounding out at least the top 8 prospects for the Blues include the likes of:

- D Theo Lindstein, whose 2025 WJC output was still decent (4 assists,4 points in 7 games) despite his 2024 tournament effort of 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points in 7 games for Team Sweden

- Finnish center Aleksanteri Kaskimaki of Blues affiliate Springfield (6 goals, 16 assists for 22 points in 30 AHL games)

- Defenseman Adam Jiricek, who currently plays in the OHL with the Brantford Bulldogs (6 games, 2 goals, 5 assists in 7 games for 2025 WJC bronze with Team Czechia)

- Team USA and St Cloud State defenseman Colin Ralph (4 points in NCAA play, 1 in all 7 Team USA games for WJC gold)

-WHL defenseman Adam Jecho (9 goals, 15 assists for 24 points with the Edmonton Oil Kings, 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points in 7 games for Team Czechia)
