It is finally time for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. With the 19th pick in the first round, the St. Louis Blues select Justin Carbonneau from the QMJHL Blainville-Boisbriand. As a recap, we at Bleedin' Blue had Cole Reschny from Victoria of the WHL as their selection.

Carbonneau played in 62 games last season and scored 46 goals and added 43 assists for 89 points. A distinguished goal-scorer, he has a booming shot and a cunning ability to be aggressive. He has yet to commit to his plans for the 2025-26 season, with a transfer possibility in the mix to the NCAA level. The right-winger has a great chance to make a splash in a couple of years, and there is a big upside to his game.
This pick has implications on the future, as it is the final first-round pick of General Manager Doug Armstrong's tenure in the 'Lou. This new Draft format needs a little bit of a change, as many do not like the presentation and flow.
We also get to witness the first player drafted with the new threads and logo revamp. The new Blue Note with a heritage twist looked great on the newest member of this organization. It will be a pleasure to watch him grow and await his arrival at the NHL level.
The Blues only have two more picks remaining for the rest of the NHL draft, in the fifth round at 147 and the sixth round at 179. There may be other deals on the horizon throughout the rest of the week, however, to change that.
How do you feel about the Blues newest draft selection?
