With the recent injury to Dylan Holloway and the long list of others on the Injured Reserve, the St. Louis Blues had to make some moves to get out a competitive roster. Jonatan Berggren was put on waivers by Detroit, and then quickly grabbed up by the Blues, and then Otto Stenberg was called up from Springfield.

Both of those new Blues are going to make their season debuts for the Blues against the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday.

Revolving door continues

This season has seen a ton of injuries, which has resulted in as many call ups. Now, General Manager Doug Armstrong had to pluck a player off the waiver wire to try and make this team operable. He spoke this week on some changes coming, and this could be the first of many.

Stenberg will make his NHL debut. There is no better feeling than taking your rookie lap in front of your home crowd, and this kid has earned it. The first-round selection in 2023 joins Dalibor Dvorsky as the second man up from that draft. With Springfield this season, he had three goals and five assists for eight points in 21 games. The highlight for him is that he is a +1 on the ice, on a very bad Thunderbirds team.

This is going to be a rough first game for these two new Blues. The rematch of the first round of last season's Stanley Cup Playoff will be a physical one. These two are going to be thrown right into the fire on this one.
