The St. Louis Blues have looked much better in their last two contests, but are still free-falling in the standings with a seven-game losing streak. Now, with the mighty and powerful Connor McDavid and the back-to-back Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers coming to town, there is a chance that history could be made, the wrong way.

Here are three players that can save the Blues from another losing effort.

Dylan Holloway

There have been a few bright spots in the darkness that has been this seven-game losing streak, and one of them is Dylan Holloway. He has registered a point in the past four games and has increased his season total to a set of goals and four assists.

He will have to continue to be great, and his line of Pius Suter and Oskar Sundqvist has been stellar for the Blues. But, there could be a possibility of Holloway rejoining the top line, as Robert Thomas returned to the ice on Sunday afternoon in practice.

As of now, the third-line minutes and situations have worked out really well for Holloway recently. Can he keep up the momentum?

Jordan Binnington

Alright, so Jordan Binnington had his moments of good and bad against the Vancouver Canucks in his last start, which ended 4-3 in a shootout. Making 15 saves on 18 shots, he kept the Blues in contention of a win, but couldn't get it done.

Backup goaltender Joel Hofer was like his old self against Columbus, stopping 35 of 38 shots in the 3-2 loss. Now the ball is in Binnington's court to try and will his way back to being that same old clutch goaltender we all know he can be. It has not been confirmed yet if Binnington will be getting the start, but it only makes sense as Edmonton is one of the top teams in the league, record or not.

Mathieu Joseph

One of the best forwards on this Blues team lately is Mathieu Joseph. The production and statistics are not there in terms of goals and assists, but he is one of the fastest skaters out there in the Blue Note. He is using that speed effectively, as according to NHL EDGE, he has two of the top-four fastest skating speeds on this team at 22.79 MPH and 22.31 MPH.

Over time, the goals will come to Joseph, and his placement in the top-six forward group has helped close the gap due to Jake Neighbours injury. Can Joseph be the one to use his speed to break the Blues out of this funk?
