The St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks are set to face off against one another prior to the training camp starting up for the 2026-27 season. It will be their future facing off against one another on September 14 and 15 at the USG Arena in Chicago.
This is going to be a nice glimpse into what this rivalry will become in the next few years, as both franchises are in the same kind of position. Watch out for the fireworks, and watch for these three Bleus specifically.
Adam Jiricek
Let's see how much Adam Jiricek has grown this offseason. After making his Springfield debut at the tail end of last season, and with hopes of him potentially cracking the opening night roster, every Blues fan knows that when No. 36 hits the ice, to glue their eyes to him.
There is so much hype surrounding him, and his eventual NHL debut at some point in 2026-27 will be sensational. For now, against other top prospects in another franchise's farm system, some evidence will be shown of his development.
Maddox Dagenais
Just a few short months after being drafted with the 16th pick of the 2026 NHL Draft, Maddox Deganais gets to show off what he has before heading into the Blues training camp sessions. Much like Justin Carbonneau last season, who we will get to in a minute, this is a great thing for him to take advantage of.
Deganais already has some hype surrounding him as well as being an elite goal-scorer in the future for the Blues, and there are not many denying that fact. If he can put out a good showing in this showcase and then take that back with him to the QMJHL for another season of Junior Hockey, then we can assume his development is going well.
Justin Carbonneau
After a fantastic showcase showing last season, and then a prolific training camp with the Blues before the 2025-26 season, Carbonneau learned a lot in a short amount of time. We saw ex-captain Brayden Schenn taking the time to teach him following the training camp sessions, and obviously it stuck, as he finished his final season in the QMJHL with a 51-goal season for Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.
This time around, he is entering this showcase with pro hockey on his mind. He will be in Springfield for the start of the season, and if all goes well, the Blues could be giving him an early Christmas present in December. Carbonneau showed an immense amount of skill before this past season, and it will be interesting to see how much he has grown in that time.
