The St. Louis Blues went 1-2-0 this week, with a huge win over Ottawa, 7-2, before losing to both Minnesota and Nashville. It was another up-and-down week, and this is a trend that has to stop before this season gets any further along.

To make a list of three stars this week, it is a bit harder than normal. There were a couple of really good standout players, but only three made the cut.

Let's talk about who.

Third Star: Pius Suter

With a fantastic three-point showing against Ottawa, that included a shorthanded effort, Pius Suter is the third star of the week this week. He had a total of two goals and two assists for four points over the three-game slate, and he was a crucial member of both scoring and pressure from the revolving door of the the fourth line.

Suter is in the last season of his current two-year deal, and he could chase a bigger bag from the Blues or find himself on a Stanley Cup contender after the Trade Deadline in March.

Second Star: Jake Neighbours

Jake Neighbours had a nice week this week with a two-goal effort as well against Ottawa. He backed that up with a total of 10 hits and an assist in his time against both Central Division opponents, Minnesota and Nashville.

His effort this season has not been the same as it was before his injury last season, but he is making the most of his time on the third-line with Dalibor Dvorsky and Pavel Buchnevich. As the season goes along, the Blues are going to benefit greatly from that trio, as they are slowly improving with every game.

First Star: Mason McTavish

There is nobody hotter on the Blues right now then Mason McTavish. This guy is on a six-game point streak, and in these three games this week, he had three goals and two assists for five points to lead the team.

His arrival with the Blues is amongst one of the biggest trades in franchise history, just solely on this eight game sample. McTavish has been consistent, and dependable, which is what this franchise has been looking for.

There is a very good chance that we will see his name as the first star of the week quite a few times going forward. But, let's hope that another name can make it there, like Robert Thomas or Dylan Holloway.
