The St. Louis Blues are gearing up for a monumental season in just a few weeks, and already the eyes are set on what these future stars can do. Are they going to hit the ground running in the NHL, or is it going to be a little longer for them to figure it all out?
With the movement of Jordan Kyrou to Washington, there is now a big hole in the goal-scoring department. There are no other players on this roster who have eclipsed 30+ goals in a season besides Pavel Buchnevich.
Here is a look at who could be up next to reach that plateau, and when we should all be expecting it.
Jimmy Snuggerud (2026-27)
This is a given. Jimmy Snuggerud will be playing alongside Robert Thomas and Dylan Holloway on that first line, and the hope is that the momentum gained in the final stretch of 2025-26 correlates this October.
Snuggerud will hit 30+ goals this upcoming season if he can stay healthy. He missed a good bit of time in 2025-26 and still managed to finish his rookie campaign with 21 goals. Watch out for No. 21.
Dylan Holloway (2026-27)
Wait, is there going to be two 30+ goal scorers in 2026-27. Absolutely.
Thomas is going to be an assist machine, hence why he may want to shoot more than pass next season. Holloway will join Snuggerud as co-inciding 30-goal scorers, which will really give some life to this team.
Head coach Jim Montgomery is going to be relying on this first line heavily with the influx of new talent and young talent as well filling out the roster. Expect big things as well from No. 81.
It is also worthy to note that both Snuggerud and Holloway have the potential to do this every season that they are a part of the Blues.
Justin Carbonneau (2028-29), Maddox Dagenais (2028-29)
I am going to get a little bit cheeky with this answer. Both Justin Carbonneau and Maddox Dagenais will be coming into their own by the time the 2028-29 season rolls around. Carbonneau has a chance of making it onto the opening night roster before this season starts, and if not, will certainly be a mid-season call-up from Springfield.
Deganais might be making his initial stance during that 2028-29 season. The 16th overall pick has already gotten praise from fans that he could be a 40+ goal scorer eventually, and a rookie run of potting 30+ should not seem so far-fetched. At least, that is if he is able to develop right at the QMJHL level.
