The St. Louis Blues have a rich history filled with incredible players throughout their 59 years in the NHL. Hall of Famers have come and gone, and there might be a few more to represent this franchise who are still playing with the current team.
If you were to pick four of the greatest Blues players and put them up on Mount Rushmore, who would they be and why? It is a bit obvious, but the best four players in franchise history have shaped its culture and legacy.
Let's talk about it.
Bernie Federko
The Blues' all-time leading scorer who competed in the most amount of games of any other player, Bernie Federko, is the first player to be put on the Blues Mount Rushmore. Rod Gilbert has been nicknamed "Mr. Ranger" for his longstanding history with the New York Rangers, but you can use that same moniker for Federko as "Mr. Blue"
Brett Hull
Not only was Brett Hull the greatest goal-scorer in Blues history, but he is also one of the greatest to ever play in this league. He holds a number of records, including his immaculate 86-goal performance in 1990-91. Outside of Wayne Gretzky, No. 16 was one of the best offensive players of all-time.
Alex Pietrangelo
Captaining the Blues to their first and only Stanley Cup, coupled with the fact that he is one of the best defensemen to wear the Note on his chest, Alex Pietrangelo deserves his spot. His 12 seasons displayed consistency and prowess on the offensive and defensive side of the ice. One day, his No. 27 should be hanging in the rafters above the Enterprise Center.
Jordan Binnington
Jordan Binnington is the Blues' all-time winningest goaltender, and his records will stand tall for a very long time. Alongside Pietrangelo, his jersey will be retired by the Blues, and a spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame seems like destiny. He represents all of the franchise's goaltenders on this Mount Rushmore, and the hope is that if the torch is being passed to Joel Hofer, he would replace him in a decade or so.
