As Christmas has come and gone, the focus is now back onto the rest of the 2025-26 season. The St. Louis Blues have not had the greatest of years, but there is still plenty of time left to right the ship.

What better time than now to come up with some last-minute New Year's resolutions, and how they can use them for some motivation for the rest of the year.

Let's talk about it.

Resolution #1: WIN

This Blues team needs to find a way to win hockey games. They have to figure out how to score goals more consistently, play better defense, or the goaltending needs to finally get into a groove. There is no more time to try and figure things out.

The Blues need to pull together and win hockey games.

Resolution #2: STAY HEALTHY

This cannot be stressed enough the Blues have got to find a way to keep themselves off of the Injured Reserve list. Dylan Holloway, Jordan Kyrou, Jimmy Snuggerud, Nathan Walker and Nick Bjugstad have occupied the list for a while now, and each of them is a very important components to this Blues identity.

Nobody else can join them. Not now, or after each of them have returned to game-form.

Resolution #3: Establish their future

This is another key one for two reasons. The Blues need to figure out what kind of team they are and what their future will look like. The surprise playoff appearance last season confuses the narrative of what brand of team this is. But, after looking at what was shown in the first 38 games of play, it is clear that they are no-longer a playoff-contending team anymore.

Do they try to push for another last-minute bid to try and lift Lord Stanley, or is it time to face reality and ship off the aging pieces? Are they a now-team, or a team to be reckoned with in the future?
