The St. Louis Blues are set to try and get revenge against the Boston Bruins, and this time, it will be on home ice. This season has not been too kind for the home fans that pack into the Enterprise Center, but there is a chance that can turn around with the Blues going for their third straight win.
Here are three players to watch.
Brayden Schenn
After a fantastic three-point effort against Montreal, captain Brayden Schenn has to keep that momentum going against the Bruins. If he can continue to prove himself by performance and not leadership, it might bring the Blues back up the standings.
Especially since it is all hands on deck right now. The offense is banged up, and there are four Springfield call-ups to try to patch the holes. Schenn has to put teaching and motivating aside and focus on scoring more goals and adding more assists on the board to give this team a chance to win.
Jordan Binnington
After a strong performance against Montreal, which seemingly kept him in the running as the Blues starting goaltender, it should be expected for him to face off against a very good Bruins squad. Since his last start, he was awarded the Jack Buck Award for the Best Sports Personality in St. Louis.
Now at 7-7-5 with a save percentage of .875 and a goals against average of 3.29, this next start against Boston is going to be crucial. Binnington, as well as the Blues, could go over and sit at .500 on the season, respectively.
Dylan Holloway
With Jimmy Snuggerud and Jordan Kyrou sidelined, Dylan Holloway has really stepped up for the Blues. Dare I say that he might be the most valuable player on this team right now, and he is playing like he wants something at the end of this season. Not only should he deserve a nice new contract extension, but Alexander Steen's first duty as the future new General Manager is to sign a blank check to keep No. 81 with the Blues.
Over his last five games, Holloway has two goals and three assists, but the eye-test shows a lot more than that. He has been consistently applying pressure to the opposition, and his speed has been a real difference maker. Can he replicate his three-point night against Montreal, hosting Boston?
